Rob Lankey has been promoted to commercial director at Afin Bank, where he oversees the bank’s lending strategy and manages the lender’s specialist sales team.
Lanki initially joined Afin as a Credit Director during its launch phase last year. He then took over the role of National Sales Director at the beginning of this year, taking responsibility for a sales team that expanded with the appointment of a number of new sales managers.
This latest promo means Lankey will help shape the format With a purpose Because it strengthens its market presence to support hard-working borrowers who have been let down by mainstream banks because they do not fit restrictive lending criteria, such as the self-employed, multi-income workers, qualified professionals, high net worth individuals and foreign nationals working in the UK.
Commenting on his appointment, Lanke said: “Afin Bank is needed now more than ever as major providers become more restrictive in terms of affordability standards, leaving many customers struggling to find a lender that understands their circumstances and can offer them the type of mortgage they need.
“This is the perfect opportunity to bring all my experience and expertise together to help brokers support their clients by offering the right mortgage products, personal underwriting and high standards of customer service.”
Lanke has over 35 years of experience in credit, operations and commercial roles in the mortgage industry, particularly in the brokerage sector. He has co-founded or early stages six banks and lenders, including Aldermore, and served as CEO of NACFB.
