
Most law firms are adopting artificial intelligence faster than they are documenting its benefits, creating a “strategic blind spot” that could disrupt COOs in the future, according to a new report.
About two thirds of those surveyed 2026 Law Firm COO Survey Report of the Blickstein Group says his company does not formally document AI-related efficiency gains. As a result, the report says, the expected benefits of AI “remain beliefs,” but “belief and documentation are not the same thing.”

The report is based on a survey of 213 law firm chief operating officers and principals.
