New analysis from property platform Rightmove reveals the coastal towns in Britain where prices are rising fastest.

Crosby in Liverpool (+9%) and Penarth in South Glamorgan (+9%) are also among the fastest growing coastal locations – with average prices of £330,900 and £433,081 respectively.
Other areas are also seeing notable increases, including Llantwit Major in South Glamorgan (+8%) and Llanelli in Carmarthenshire (+7%), highlighting the continued demand for coastal homes across a range of locations.
This price growth compares to a national average change of -0.3% in asking prices over the past year, highlighting how some coastal locations are outpacing the national trend for price growth. The average price of properties coming to the market in May this year is £378,304.
Meanwhile, coastal living remains relatively affordable, with prices for nine out of ten of the fastest-growing coastal locations still below the national average.
Across more than 100 coastal areas analysed, more than 80% also had an average asking price below the national figure (£378,304).
Sandbanks in Poole remains the most expensive coastal location in Britain, with an average asking price of £1,119,945, closely followed by Canford Cliffs in Poole, where the average asking price for a home is £1,045,533.
Commenting, NAEA Propertymark Chair Mary-Lou Press said: “What stands out in this data is that many of the fastest-growing coastal markets remain relatively affordable, particularly in parts of the North West and Wales. For many buyers, these areas can offer a balance between lifestyle, space and value.”
