Mortgage loans rose 25% year-on-year, while security work rose 12%. General insurance also achieved strong performance, increasing by 17% during the same period.

Following a record year for private medical insurance (PMI) in 2025, the network has continued to see momentum in this space, with PMI business up 8% in the first quarter.

Overall, total network lending income increased by 21% compared to the first quarter of 2025, reflecting higher levels of activity and continued engagement of advisors with a broader range of products.

The network now supports 882 advisers across its members across the UK.

Comment on the latest numbers Mortgage network and appropriate protection CEO Martin Wilson said:

“The first quarter of 2026 has started in a positive way for the network, with growth across all key areas of the business. What is particularly encouraging is that this is not being driven by a single product line, but by advisors continuing to have broader conversations with clients and positioning the business across multiple areas.

“The increase in lending income shows that activity levels have been strong, although we recognize that a certain amount of business has been brought forward to March so advisers can access products and rates before it is withdrawn.

“However, at the same time, the continued growth in our protection and general insurance underscores a continued focus on more comprehensive advice. We also see private medical insurance maintaining the pace we set last year, reflecting growing demand from clients in this area.”
